Contemporary Twisted LED Chandelier

Cymbella Is an artisanal crafted working prototype made from American Poplar Plywood and sanded polycarbonate. The length stretches 5ft in diameter on a helical spine. Mimicking the likes of phytoplankton marine life, the fixture implies movement and flares light in multiple directions from its fin-like appendages. The rhythmic and repetitious triangular pattern is the result of technical necessity but also serves as part of the design motif. A sort of happy accident. The goal is to continue developing these light expressions with the intention to partner with a Design firm that can aid in taking it from an artisanal process to substantial production.
